The Garden of Choices

In the quiet village of Krosuru [ in Palnadu district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh]  Veda had a small garden full of colourful flowers and fresh vegetables. She loved taking care of it, like it was part of her family. But one summer, the weather changed. The sky stopped giving rain, and the sun became very hot and dry. The garden started to wither and die.

Veda felt sad and worried. She looked at the dry plants and thought,

“What can I do?

Will everything be lost?”

One afternoon, while sitting near her drooping sunflowers, her kind neighbor Rahul came over. He said gently, “Veda, plants need water and sunlight to grow, but they also need Care, Courage ,Love and effort. When the rain stopped, I didn’t just wait. I dug a deeper well to find water and shared what I found with my neighbors.”

Rahul’s words gave Veda hope. She smiled, feeling a small spark of courage inside her.

Veda called her friends and family together. They decided to help each other. They built a new garden where everyone shared water and worked side by side. Their hands were busy like bees, and soon the garden was full of life and colors again.

From this, Veda learned a valuable lesson:

even when things seem hard, like a drought, we can choose to act with hope and kindness. It is not just the right conditions that help things grow

—it is also our choice to keep trying and helping each other.

Moral:

Life is like a garden. Sometimes, there will be hard times, but with hope, kindness, and hard work, we can make good things grow—even when it seems impossible.
